Happy Halloweekend everyone! I hope you all have a safe and fun weekend. As for me, I'll just be enjoying my weekend off and doing a little shopping. Anyway just wanted to share a few looks from this week with you guys!
Today my boyfriend surprised me with this awesome rolling make-up case! I have been eyeing this for awhile on Amazon, only dreaming that one day it would be mine. And now I couldn't be happier!! It's gorgeous, very spacious and great quality! Now I can meet any client, anywhere with all of my goodies. Yay!!! Rule No. 1: Start with a Clean Slate
To prime your lips, try a lip exfoliator. Before you apply lipstick, the exfoliant will ensure a smooth finish by clearing away dryness, and healing chapped lips. Try: Lush Cosmetics / Lip Treatments Philosophy / Kiss Me Fresh / Sugar Lip Polish @ Sephora Tarte / Maracuja Lip Exfoliant @ Sephora Bliss / Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub
Though classic true red is universally flattering, knowing which colors actually complement your skin will help you find the right match.
Next, apply a touch of flesh-tone concealer to provide an even base — your own natural lip color can actually alter the hue. With a lip pencil in a complementary shade, fill in lips entirely. Before you even start to apply your lipstick, trace the frame of your lips and the inner rim of your lips. To enhance that flawless red lip, you need to ensure your lips are well lined. Not only will this draw attention to your overall frame, but the liner will keep your lips in place and away from your teeth. Nothing is more distracting than a poorly lined red lip. Rule No. 4: Bombshell, Not Clown Prevent the red lipstick from “bleeding” by applying a touch of concealer around the border of your lips. Remember that bold red lips look best with a clean, polished eye. Too much drama around the eye can be distorting – in this case less is more! Hey guys, I've been trying to go through old posts from my previous blog (hence the multiple posts in one day) to reach out to everyone and share tips. Here's the look I created today, I went with a opal-ish luminizer and some flirty wispy lashes over a rosegold smokey eye. And my fave nude lips! Whether or not you got a full eight hours last night, the last thing you want to do is look like you had a rough night. Here’s a few tricks to help you look well rested, and feel ready to take on the day…
WAKE UP BEAUTIFUL! Days when you can’t hide from deadlines and meetings under covers, you can’t afford to spare not even one minute. Get going with a splash of water (a little colder than lukewarm) on your face to wake you up, or even take desperate measures and hit the shower! Though the water’s cold, it’s beneficial because you will be even more alert. For an invigorating rinse off, try peppermint body washes that’ll wake you up head to toe. Refresh your face, and scrub away the worries of yesterday behind. Use an exfoliating face wash to reveal healthy glowing skin, and get rid of ickyness. You may not be fully awake yet, but you’ll be ready to take on the day. Check out Lush Cosmetic’s Angels on Bare Skin exfoliating face cleanser. This gentle lavender scrub is preservative free, and fit for all skin types. For heavenly soft and balanced skin, this wash blended with ground almonds, rose, and lavender will help you gt there. Freshen Up & Moisturize Well moisturized skin, is healthy skin; thus, when you moisturized you’ll look better rested. Take the time to show your skin a little t.l.c. especially your face. May I suggest Philosophy’s Take a Deep Breath Face Moisturizer? This oil-free formula is an energizing oxygen gel cream that is revitalizing and protective to your skin. The blend of antioxidants combat signs of stress while the oxygen detoxifies skin and supports skin cell respiration. Lighten Up While there are a zillion eye creams that promise to help dark circles, none of them offer an instant fix. Concealer, on the other hand, is a sure thing—so start by choosing a creamy formula that is slightly lighter than your skin ( be careful not to go more than one shade lighter than your natural skin tone). I use this trick by dabbing small amounts just under my eyes to be-rid eye-bags and blending over foundation. Be sure to set with either a translucent or lightly pigmented powder to stop any creasing. Add Sparkle Put just a tiny touch of shimmer cream right in the inner corners of the eyes. I find that golden undertones compliment darker skin, and shimmery opal is beautiful on lighter skin. You will instantly look refreshed and glowing.Try a dab of Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator by NYX. Blushing Beauty By adding a little color to your temples, you can easily highlight and accentuate natural beauty without over doing it. To add to dull, sleepy skin, I prefer baked blushes. To distract from puffiness, apply blush slightly higher on the face than usual (highest point of the apples, right over the edge of the cheek bone). Check out Too Faced’s Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush for a baked blush trio combining peach coral, and bubble gum pink shades for a enhanced, primped glowing finish. Voila! Sleeping Beauty to Glowing goddess in an instant. Take on the day, and fake-it if you have to! “Grooming is the secret of real elegance. The best clothes, the most wonderful jewels, the most glamourous beauty don’t count without good grooming.” Just as a general guideline, I decided to work-up a few of my own rules that I try to pass on to others about make-up and beauty. . . .
What a week! Everyday I wake up with more and more inspiration and a hunger to grow and really just get this going as best as I can. Just having this "project" going really has shed a great deal of positivity on my life overall! Anyway I just wanted to share the news of my business cards arriving and also a look at today's make-up of the day. Today, I was inspired by "pin-up" girls and Iggy Azaela. It definitely takes a lady to wear and maintain red lipstick, but I love it! Have a great week everyone! Hello to all of you out there, and welcome.
I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally be starting something that makes me so happy. Having the support of family and friends to start chasing my dream as an aspiring make-up artist has inspired me to take this first step and put myself out there. Though I am on my way to certification, I am currently taking on projects that showcase my work and playing around with different looks to perfect my skills and try new things. I have always loved make-up, maybe a little too much for my own good. In the past, and even now I always get nagged for taking too long to get ready, or even being too high maintenance, but it is who I am. Though I may be a "cake-face", I believe I do have a strong understanding that make-up should be used in such a way that only accentuates natural beauty. But for me personally, I love to use make-up on myself as a way to create different looks, to tell a story, to create art. I am not a theatrical artist, but I believe even the most subtle brush stroke can make all the difference to make one look completely different from another. As I start my day, I visualize who I want to be, who I want people to see and in a way transform. Society may not always understand why some of us "cake" on make-up, but ignorance is bliss. I myself have very sensitive skin (acne prone, and discoloration) and have been wearing false eyelashes for about 5 years. My eyebrows are thin, my eyes mono-lid and almond-shaped, and I virtually have no cheekbones. In a sense, I say I look like a 12 year-old without make-up. Still, make-up gives me the confidence I wouldn't have otherwise, and lets my inner self shine. From my own experience in make-up, I hope to share with anyone out there my stories and tips. My message to ladies out there, be you. |
